Member Spotlight
Every month, we highlight someone in our community of practice so you can learn about a variety of adaptation work and "meet" a new colleague!

Danielle Dolan
Principal, ClimateThrive Community Strategies

Bio: Danielle founded her consulting firm in 2023, after over twenty years working in the nonprofit environmental sector. ClimateThrive was created to pursue climate resilience planning and action that centers environmental justice, addresses social vulnerability, and uplifts local cultural contexts. Danielle received her BA in Environmental Studies and an MS in Community Development and has worked in many capacities throughout the country. She has a track record of effectively mobilizing partnerships to engage on statewide policy initiatives, advance watershed planning, and implement local climate resilience projects.

Climate Adaptation ProjectThrough the MVP 2.0 program, Danielle is helping municipal staff in five communities build relationships with underrepresented and overburdened populations in order to understand their needs and priorities. She convened interdisciplinary "Core Teams" in each community, comprising municipal staff from a wide range of departments, and Community Liaisons with strong ties to historically underrepresented groups, such as recent immigrants, non-native English speakers, and differently abled populations. After exploring what local climate change impacts look like for each community's most vulnerable populations, Core Teams meet community members where they are and listen to their stories to better understand what adaptation strategies will be most beneficial based on the community's self-identified priorities. Municipal staff and community partners alike are learning new skills and building capacity for long-term, trust-based relationships and collaboration.
